2D & 3D animation for The Times
Our latest brief from The Box and The Times & Sunday Times was to create some new sport related TV idents for their upcoming sponsorship of Sky Sports News. The Times & Sunday Times were looking for a premium and considered design that reflected the quality of their reporting across various sports.
With a simple, yet bold, concept developed by The Box we set to work designing each individual frame in a mixture of After Effects and cinema 4D, creating hyper-real, monochromatic scenarios for each of the Publishers main sports. A clean type transition was used to create stand out as well as stitch the narrative of the edit, placing The Times & The Sunday Times at the heart of the execution, resulting in a beautifully crafted and understated edit that was a real pleasure to produce. Once we had the design and animation approved it was off to our SFX partners, Clearcut Sound, to record the VO with acclaimed actor & artist, James Thornton, as well as a few wild “Get in the hole!” sound bites from various Pebble Producers!
